Group presentations can be stressing, especially if you are shy. It takes some time to feel comfortable presenting for a class. Through practice and perseverance anything could be achieved. Working one on one with your team to develop the confidence and strategies to help you cope with the stress and anxiety will really make a difference. In my opinion this project was much more than writing about the chapters but more about working together as one to display our hard work. Excellent teamwork is displayed throughout the three teams in my opinion. Group 1 really did an excellent job displaying their PowerPoint slides. In my opinion they were successfully able to cover the whole chapter and really explain everything in detail for everyone to fully understand. An essential part about making presentations interesting and not dull is having more graphics and less words. As a presenter one must be able to fully understand the subject they are talking about to be able to transmit that to the viewer. One must not be reading word by word what they wrote on a PowerPoint. Not only will the viewer fall asleep if you are just reading word by word but you would have waisted your time. Some great tips are adding videos to help you prove your point, but not just any video but upbeat and interesting videos. Group one were able to display all of these specific points I just mentioned above. When they were presenting they fully knew what they were talking about. I remember having multiple questions as they were presenting, all to which they answered with their presentation. That shows how much time and effort they put into their project. Group two did an amazing job as well. Even though not as well as group one. You can really tell that they tried and were pretty knowledgeable about their chapter. However, when comparing both groups I believe that group one was more clear and concise about their presentation. Group two lacked presentation qualities, such as speaking directly and efficiently. The audience could really feel how nervous the speakers were in group two. Their presentation had too much written information and lacked graphics in my opinion. Which is not always great like I had mentioned. That could really put your audience to sleep. I believe they could have made it more interesting, especially having so many interesting subtopics. Overall, they did a good job, their presentation displayed that they put time and effort into it which really counts for something. A few tips that I would give them is to not underestimate the presenting part of it and to practice more with their team that part, because it is very crucial. I believe that for the next presentation they should be fine if they work on these few thing. Constructive criticism is a crucial part that should be taken as a good thing, because it really helps you improve small flaws that one as an individual fails to see for ourselves.
Now lets talk a little about group three, which is the group that I was in. I want to share my experience working with my group. To begin I want to share that I was very nervous about depending on so many people for a group project. This was my first time doing a group project with so many people. In my personal opinion our group did a great job. We would meet after class via zoom to keep discussing about our subjects and it really made a difference. Every step of the way we had each other back being responsive and engaging in the project. For the most art we were all pretty engaged in the project with the exemption of some. One thing that I ave learned through this project is that not everyone works at your speed and not everyone is as engaged and dedicated as some of us were. We really hit a roadblock because everyone in my group had MAC computers and those of us who included videos were unable to display them to the class. However, we did include videos and a lot of important information about leadership and group dynamics as well. Cooperation and dedication is an essential part of working in groups. When everyone in the group is an active participant it really makes the journey smoother for everyone in the group. The few of us that would meet, we would practice and practice various times our presentation skills to be prepared for the big day. Making sure we knew all the information by heart to be able to deliver efficiently our topics. We also included a lot of graphics to make the slides interesting, in order for our audience to enjoy and really grasp all the information that was given to them. They were very creative and innovative, always coming up with newer, fresher ideas to spice up our topics. As I have mentioned before when you work in groups you all work together as one to present something together. That is a lot of responsibility that we are putting on each other seeing how we are being graded the same for our slides. I was relieved to find out that most people in my group were very active and really cared for their grades. I can’t even begin to explain the amount of effort and hours put into this project. We really aimed to display our subtopics clear and concise for our viewers to full comprehend everything that was being showed to them. In my opinion we were able to successfully deliver to the audience exactly what we had aimed for. All the hard work payed off at the end. All the after class meetings and late nights prepping for the big day, it was all worth it. When you prepare and put time into your work all the fear of failure really goes away. In addition, I am really excited for future projects we might have together.
