Reflection

 

My reflection on this group project is that everyone did great. During the project my group and I discussed on how we were going to do our project. The first two groups did two different chapters. I was nervous because I did not know if we were going to do it right. Group 1 did an amazing job with their presentation because they organized their power point and went in order like how our group did with our project. My group did ‘group leadership and problem solving.’ My part was the first three steps of problem solving. We did it on Google PowerPoint. It was not hard for me to do my part. All I had to do was to put the first three steps on three different slides. Group 2 also did an amazing job with their project. Their project included talking about the terrorist group ISIS and their brutality. ISIS like to kill many people and do public execution. They also included a video about what ISIS do to captured prisoners. They were organized with their presentation, and they did a great job with their PowerPoint. Many people throughout the world struggle with communication. Some people do not know how to speak properly or do not speak at all. Without communication people would not be talking. Communication is very important in out everyday life. There are many important things that requires communication every day. When working on projects with groups communication is important when talking to each other. Leadership requires communication with who you are leading. When communicating in a group, ask questions and say your own opinions. My group and I did great as a team and so did group 1 and group 2. My group did group leadership and problem solving. There are many problems around that world that need to be solved. When in a group, we ask questions on how we are going to solve the problem and communicate with each other. Leadership is important when communicating with other people. Communication is also helping people when they are having trouble with something. A leader knows what to do and knows how leadership works. My group and I worked as a team, and we did great in our presentation. The first step in problem solving is to identify the problem. The second step is to analyze the problem which is to find out as much of the problem as possible. We must gather as much information as possible and then discuss in our group how we are going to use the information to solve the problem. The third step is to determine criteria for judging solutions. Criteria are standards used for judging proposed solutions. The group comes up with possible solutions to the problem and discusses it we each other. Critical thinking is important when trying to solve a problem in a group. We all have critical thinking skills in our heads. The fourth step is to generate a host of solutions. We use our thinking skills to discuss solutions. Brainstorming is important when coming up with solutions to the problem. Make a list of possible solutions. We should come up with at least 8 to 10 solutions. The fifth step is to evaluate solutions and decide. We use decision making to choose the alternatives to the problem. Use process of elimination to determine the best solution to the problem. After discussions with each other then the group determine the best solution to the problem. The sixth and final step is implementing the agreed-upon solution and assess it. The group then agrees to the best solution of the problem and makes recommendation on how the solution solves the problem. The group the figures out what task is required to solve the problem and how there are many details in the solutions. Sometime the agreed solution may not be effective so the group must use the tasks so that the solution will solve the problem. This work would have not been done without communication. That is why we communicate and talk to each other when we are doing group projects. We help each other complete the project by communicating. Therefore, communication is what helps us in our lives, we need communications to talk and be smart and learn. Without communication we would not learn how to do anything. We used our critical thinking skills we have learned in our lives to do our project and help each other. Group communications helped us achieve our goals and at the end we did great on the project. During the presentation I saw everyone else’s projects and I saw that they were very creative in their slides. I was impressed on how they did their slides and that some of the slides had cool pictures and backgrounds. For me, I did my part on three slides. I put the first three steps of problem solving on three slides. I included pictures and background colors in my slide. After my group and I finished our slides, the group leader put the slides in order. During the presentation, each member read their slides in order, and I read mine when it was my turn to read my part of the slideshow. I was al little nervous but at the end I read my part with ease and did good. All of us did great in our slide show because we worked as a team and decided how we were going to do our project. Overall, I had an excellent time doing and reading my part of the project. I had a pleasant experience viewing the other group’s projects and seeing their slides. In our group we helped each other, and we had leadership with us. We did our best and at the end it worked out. If someone in our group needed our help, we would help them because that is what working as a team does. Without communication, we would have not been able to do our work. Communication helps us all.
